A Soul for Europe – Giving Europe a Soul
As the German project partner in the Europe-wide network “Soul for Europe,“ The “Stiftung Zukunft Berlin” wants to form partnerships with
100 counties, cities and townships to request the newly compiled EU guidelines. The goal is to form a consensual familiarity with the larger challenge of Europe, mutually confront politically responsible parts and to show every citizen that his or her respective location an equally important building block of Europe at large.
At the Third Berlin Conference 2008, people from various disciplines pointed out
the use of European culture within European economics and all conceded that it can be factored in as an extremely advantageous component of the worldwide European economy. Values like social conduct, reliability, quality of products or corporate citizenship are all strong arguments in the global market.
Dr. Volker Hassemer, spokesman for the “Soul for Europe” initiative maintains that
“responsible parties within the economic sphere are certainly a few steps ahead of those in politics. More communities in Germany should take on more European responsibility. With our roundtable discussion , we hope to provide the impetus and encourage our cities to familiarize themselves new EU guidelines and entrust them in the future to maintain this responsibility. I rejoice in the possibility of those responsibly engaged in local politics taking part in the WORLD CULTURE FORUM.“ Participants in the “Soul for Europe”
