Travel Information

Arriving By Car

The state capital of Saxony is easily accessible from all directions by car. The Autobahn A4 connects Dresden with Görlitz in the east and Frankfurt am Main in the west and cuts across the extreme north-west section of the city.
The following exits (from south-west to north-east) lead into the city:

  • Dresden Old Town (Altstadt)
  • Dresden New Town (Neustadt)
  • Dresden Wilder Mann district
  • Dresden Hellerau district
  • Dresden Airport (Flughafen)

From Berlin, the Autobahn A13 leads to Dresden, merging with the Autobahn A4 north of the city. From Prague, you can reach Dresden via the Autobahn A17. Dresden is also accessible from the interstates B6, B97, B170, B172 and B173. If you do not wish to travel into the city by car we recommend two Park-and-Ride facilities, which can be found at the terminal stops of the trams in the Bühlau and Prohlis districts. The parking is free. Bühlau and Prohlis provide 80 and 66 parking spaces respectively.
